Residential Artificial Turf Installation for Georgia Homes

Keeping a natural yard green takes constant mowing, watering, and weed control, and many homeowners still end up with brown patches. Artificial turf installation for homes gives you a clean, even yard that looks good every season with far less work. Residential artificial turf also stays free of mud, so less dirt gets tracked into the house. Every property is different, so the right turf depends on sun exposure, soil, slope, and how you plan to use each area. Turf Restoration and Design is a family owned company, and our owner spent more than twenty years working with turf before starting it. That experience guides the residential turf installation services we provide, from planning to final touches.

Turf Restoration and Design has designed and installed residential turf since 2020, backed by more than twenty years of hands-on turf work. We do not subcontract any part of a residential job. The same crew that walks your yard and quotes the work is the crew that digs it, grades it and lays it, using our own equipment. We use turf that is 100 percent recyclable and made locally, we design each yard around its own slope and drainage instead of repeating the last layout, and we back the finished job with a 15 year material warranty and a 5 year labor warranty. We are licensed, insured, and a member of the National Synthetic Turf Council.

Our Services

Every home uses its outdoor space differently, so we build five distinct residential systems. Each one uses a different turf, a different infill, and in most cases a different base.

Front Yard Artificial Grass Installation for Curb Appeal

Your front yard shapes the first impression of your home for guests, neighbors, and future buyers. Patchy grass, bare spots, and overgrown edges can make even a well-kept house look tired. Artificial grass installation in the front yard creates a neat, uniform lawn that stays green without weekly care. It also works well around walkways, driveways, and flower beds where natural grass is hard to trim. Turf Restoration and Design matches turf color and blade shape to look natural from the street, not plastic. Most of our work comes from customers who send us to their neighbors, and a front yard is often where those conversations start.

Unlike some states, Georgia has no law stopping a homeowners association from restricting artificial turf, so in HOA neighborhoods the covenants decide the outcome. We handle that part with you. We provide turf samples, product specifications, drainage details and photographs of finished installs in a format an architectural review committee can approve, and we wait for the green light before we schedule anything.

Benefits of Our Service

The Same Yard in Every Season

It looks identical in the middle of an August heatwave and after a week of February rain, with no dormant brown period and no seasonal patching.

WEEKEND

You Get Your Weekends Back

No mowing, no edging, no fertilizer schedule and no trips to buy seed for the same bare patch every spring.

The Mud Stops at the Door

Water drains through the turf and out through the base instead of sitting on top of clay, so the yard is usable again within hours of a storm rather than days.

Bare Patches Never Come Back

LoreShade under trees, worn paths along the fence and thin strips beside the driveway all stay the same shade of green as the rest of the yard.

Synthetic Grass for Side Yards & Shady Areas

Side yards, narrow strips, and shaded spots under trees are some of the hardest places to grow real grass. These areas often turn into bare dirt, moss, or mud that never seems to improve. Synthetic grass for homes fills these tricky spaces with a clean surface that does not need sunlight to stay green. It also works on gentle slopes where seed and sod wash away after heavy rain.

Turf Restoration and Design measures each area carefully and shapes the turf to fit around fences, trees, and utility boxes. Our own team does the work with our own equipment, and we never hand a job to a subcontractor.

Artificial Turf for Patios, Decks & Balconies

Plain concrete patios, wood decks, and small balconies can feel hard and uninviting. Adding turf creates a soft, green surface for lounging, outdoor dining, or container gardens. Turf over hard surfaces needs a different approach than a yard because water must drain away without pooling underneath. The right backing, drainage layers, and edge work help the turf stay flat and neat over time.

Turf Restoration and Design plans each patio or deck project around its slope and drainage points before installation begins. If your patio connects to a swimming area, our pool turf installation service can extend the same look around the water.

Our team works around established root systems rather than cutting through them, matches the turf to the rest of the yard so the repair doesn’t read as a patch, and blends the transition where it meets living grass if you’re only converting part of the space. It’s often the smallest job we do—and the one people notice most. Email our team to discuss your project.

Our Work Process

01

We Map the Yard

We measure the area, find the low points, and watch where water currently runs. Then we talk through how you actually use the space, because a dog run, a play area and a display lawn each need a different build.

02

We Build the Base

We strip the old surface, correct the grade, then lay and compact a permeable aggregate base to the right depth. This is the slowest part of the job and the part that decides how the yard looks a decade from now.

03

We Lay, Seam and Groom the Turf

The turf is stretched tight, seamed with the pile running the same direction, locked down at every edge, then infilled and power broomed so the blades stand up. We walk the finished yard with you before we load the truck.

What People Are Saying About Us

Testimonials

    Karen M.

    Milton, GA

We had a strip of yard that never grew anything but weeds and mud. They regraded the whole thing before they laid anything down, which nobody else who quoted us even brought up. Two summers in and it still looks like the day they finished.

      Derrick H.

      Johns Creek, GA

Two labs and a yard that turned into a swamp every time it rained. They walked us through the drainage and the pet infill instead of just handing over a number, and there is no smell at all. The dogs took about ten seconds to decide they approved.

        Tom B.

        Roswell, GA

I asked for a putting green and they came back with a layout that used a slope I thought was a problem. Three real breaks on it now and it rolls true. They were on site every day and cleaned up behind themselves every evening.

          Angela R.

          Peachtree Corners, GA

Our courtyard was costing us a fortune in irrigation and yearly sod repair. They phased the work so tenants were never fully blocked off, and they hit the dates they gave us. That maintenance line has basically disappeared from the budget.

Custom Backyard Turf Design for Outdoor Living

Many families want a backyard that works for play, relaxing, and entertaining all at once. A custom artificial lawn installation can divide the yard into zones, each with the right turf for its purpose. Kids and pets may need a durable play area, while a golfer may want a short practice green near the patio.

Turf Restoration and Design designs these layouts with you, then builds every zone with proper base preparation and drainage. Our turf is made locally and is 100 percent recyclable, and each project includes a 15 year material warranty and a 5 year labor warranty. You can add pet friendly turf installation for dog areas or a backyard putting green for practice at home.

          Frequently Asked Questions

Not if the base is right and the turf was stretched properly. Bubbling and wrinkling are among the most common complaints homeowners report after an install, and they almost always come from an uneven or poorly compacted sub-base, or from turf that was laid without enough tension. Seams separate when the pile direction is misaligned or the wrong adhesive was used. If any of that shows up within the first year, it is the installer's responsibility, and our 5 year labor warranty covers it.

Nothing grows up through a correctly installed system, because the base is a compacted aggregate with no soil in it and a weed barrier sits underneath. What can happen is that seeds blow in, settle in the infill on the surface, and sprout on top. That is uncommon, it pulls out by hand in seconds, and it is nothing like maintaining a natural lawn. Keeping leaves and organic debris off the turf removes the problem almost entirely.

The honest answer is that installation quality decides it. Appraisers do not usually give turf a line-item value the way they would a new roof, so its effect comes through buyer impression rather than the appraisal. A clean, realistic install with invisible seams and no drainage issues reads as a finished, low-maintenance property. A cheap install with visible seams, lifted edges or standing water reads as a shortcut, and that will cost you.

Usually yes, but you need approval first. Georgia has no state law preventing an HOA from restricting artificial turf, so your covenants and the architectural review committee decide it. Most associations approve turf once they see the product quality and the drainage plan, and many covenants were written before modern turf existed and simply do not mention it. We give you samples, specifications and finished photos to submit, and we do not schedule the job until you have the approval in hand.

It is low maintenance, not no maintenance. Expect to blow or rake leaves off it, rinse it down occasionally, and brush the high-traffic paths every few months so the blades stay upright. Pet areas want a rinse more often than the rest of the yard. That is the whole list, and it adds up to a fraction of the time a natural lawn takes in a single month.

            Area We Serve

We keep our service area deliberately tight. Staying close to home is what allows us to put our own crews on every residential job instead of subcontracting the work out, and it means we can come back quickly if you need us after the install. Most of our residential projects sit within about an hour of the shop.
